Who this is for
Use this process if you own a copyright or trademark and believe content on Pingkar infringes it. For harassment, impersonation, or other guideline violations, use Report on the content itself instead; that reaches moderators faster.
Sending a takedown notice
Email copyright@pingkar.io with all of the following. Incomplete notices are returned with a request for the missing details.
- Your full name and, if you act for a rights holder, who you represent.
- A description of the work you say is infringed, with a link to an original where one exists.
- The exact Pingkar URL of each post, reply, or file you want removed.
- Your email address and a postal address or phone number.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What we do with it
A complete notice is acted on within two business days. The content is hidden, the person who posted it is told why and receives a copy of the notice with your contact details removed, and the action is written to the moderation audit log. Accounts that receive repeated valid notices are suspended and, for persistent cases, closed.
If your content was removed
If you believe the removal was a mistake, for example because you hold a licence or the use is fair dealing or fair use, send a counter-notice to the same address with: your name and contact details, the URL of the removed content, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live. We forward the counter-notice to the person who complained. Unless they tell us within ten business days that they have started legal proceedings, the content is restored.
Trademarks
Trademark complaints follow the same steps. Include the registration number and the jurisdiction. Community names and handles that imitate a brand are judged on whether a reasonable person would be misled, and fan communities that say they are unofficial are usually allowed.
Misuse
Knowingly false notices and counter-notices can make you liable for the other side's costs. We may ignore repeated notices from senders who have sent false ones before.
